Zmiiv

Zmiiv (Ukrainian: Зміїв, Russian: Змиёв) is a city in Kharkiv Oblast (province) of Ukraine. The population as of 2001 was 17,063. Zmiiv is the administrative center of Zmiivskyi Raion. Between 1976 and 1991, the city was renamed after Klement Gottwald, a Czechoslovak politician, to Gotwald (Hotvald) (Ukrainian: Готвальд).
