J.D./M.B.A.
A J.D./M.B.A. or M.B.A./J.D. is a dual degree program offered jointly by many law and business schools in the United States and by the University of Toronto in Canada. The program generally lasts four years (saving one year over completing both degrees separately) and results in the candidate earning both a Master of Business Administration degree and a Juris Doctor degree. Graduating JD/MBA students may choose to practice law, or enter the business world. Even though a majority of JD/MBAs graduate from a single university, there are people who earn these degrees from different universities.
Some prominent law firms give generous signing bonuses (e.g., $20k[1]) to incoming first year associates who hold JD/MBA degrees.
