B Shivaraman

B Shivaraman (born June 5, 1924 - 18 December 2002), in Nemmara village, Palakkad district in Kerala was one of the foremost industrialists in post independent South India.

Rising from humble beginnings, he completed his degree of Bachelor Of Sciences at the Indian Institute of Sciences(IISc), Bangalore. He later went to set up his own businesses ranging from Mekuba Inc., to Central Petro Chemicals Limited (CPCL), the former of which tied up a collaboration with Wynns Intl Ltd. He married Lakshmi Shivaraman in 1942 and fathered two sons and a daughter, Meena Subrahmanyan who is a noted Chennai citizen. He was also awarded the Vijay Shree Award presented by the International Friendship Society of India (IFSI) for 'enriching human life and outstanding attainments'.
