Animal X (band)

The story of Animal X begins in 1997, when Vierme (Worm), Hiena (Hyena) and Soparla (Lyzard) decided to make a breakdance band. They were the most popular breakdancers in Constanta, their hometown. In 1999 the song "N-am crezut" was released on radio stations and became a big hit. It was the first song that stayed 18 weeks in Romanian Top 100. The music genre was dance After that the "N-am crezut" E.P. was released and over 100.000 copies were sold. One year later another album is released ( "Level 02" ) and 120.000 copies of it were sold. Its first single , "Pentru ea" was another success. A new record for the Romanian Top 100 => 32 weeks in the top.

In the autumn of 2001 the "Virtual" disc was released. The first single of this album , "Sa pot ierta", helped them to achieve the first MTV Romanian Best Act at Barcelona in the year 2002. 135.000 copies of the disc were sold. Also, in that year 2002, Animal X along with another boy band , 3SE and Cristiana Raduta had a tour around 32 towns in Romania. It was called the "Anti-Drug Tour" and because Animal X is the most popular band among young people in Romania, it was a real success bringing over two million people at their concerts. In December 2002, the "Revolution" disc was released and it was sold in over 150.000 copies. In 2004 the "Fun Raptor" disc was released.

In 2006 the band suffers a major change. Three more "animals" join the band. King Tzapu' (King Goat), Martzianoo (Martian) and TzeTze were "recruited" in the band. Also, the band style was changed into electro-rock the old dance songs have now rock versions. The first album in the new formula is called "Derbedei" and was released in March 2006 with the single "Baieti derbedei" , a featuring with Pacha Man.

In December 2006 Animal X releases their first "Best Of" in a mega-concert with the band No Mercy at Bucharest. Also with the occasion of this event they were awarded with 5 platinum discs!

Also Animal X made compositions for the band and for other artist, like Corina, Pacha Man, Helena Paparizou (a club version for the song "Mambo"), Outlandish (two remixes) and No Mercy, in the X - Studio at Bucharest.
