In Slovenia, a five-point grading scale is used in elementary and high schools:

  • 5: excellent (best possible grade)
  • 4: very good
  • 3: good
  • 2: sufficient (lowest passing grade)
  • 1: insufficient (lowest possible grade; failing)

In universities, a ten-point grading scale is used:

  • 10 excellent (best possible grade)
  • 8-9 very good
  • 7 good
  • 6 sufficient (lowest passing grade)
  • 5 or less (failing grades)
