8 Flight Army Air Corps

8 Flight Army Air Corps is one of the Independent Flights within the British Army's Army Air Corps. 8 Flight is attached to the Special Air Service and based alongside them in Hereford.

The flight provides the SAS with their own light Special Operations Aviation support.

8 Flight AAC is also thought to support the SAS in the Counter-Terrorism role.

It is made up of 4 Agusta A109 helicopters and two Aérospatiale Gazelle helicopters. Two of the Agustas were captured from the Argentines in the Falklands War in 1982 as war prizes and the other two were bought brand-new.
