While "Canadian Idiot" was not intentionally released as a single and (currently) has no music video, the song received enough digital purchases to warrant being placed on the Billboard charts.
Poodle Hat did not have any commercially released CD singles, but a low-budget music video was made for "Bob" to show on 2003's Al TV special. Additionally, the video for "Couch Potato" (which received some radio play) was cancelled in pre-production, due to Eminem's objecting to the release of a video for the parody.
From 1994 to 2003, the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album was changed to the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Comedy Album and restricted to spoken word comedy only. Hence, none of Yankovic's albums from this time were considered in the comedy category. In 2004, the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album was reinstated and Yankovic's albums could once again be considered. His album Poodle Hat won the Grammy in this category in its first year after reinstatement.
