Continentals

The Continentals the world largest Gospel choir is movement.

The Continentals arose on each continent and gastierten in over 80 countries. So far they were over 1500 time on tour, gave over 25.000 concerts and reached thereby over ten million visitor. There are the Continental Kids (8-12 years), the Young Continentals (13-16 years), the Continental Singers (16-35 years) and the Encore Continentals (21-55) years.
There are national co-ordinators so mentioned in nearly all European countries and partially. own national groups of singing. Today of the Dutch center annually more than 20 European groups are trained and mediated in co-operation with the national co-ordinators into all European countries.

Continentals in Germany and world-wide

1963 the founder, began Cam Floria, the Continentals with a Christian group of choirs in the east of the USA.

1967 they traveled to a singing competition to the west and won it. During the journey also its name developed, since they gave on the way many concerts. On the way they brought Christian music up-to-date in churches and municipalities.
Soon several groups stepped in the USA and into Europe up developed for Continental Ministries in such a way, to today largest Christian choir music movement. On invitation they visited soon thereafter Holland and Germany.

1969-1970 becomes by Leen la Riviére a Dutch concert office for the Continentals (from the USA) in Rotterdam opened. Later it created the choir “Diciples”, these became the entrance for the Dutch and later European Continentals work.

1969 gave US-Continentals before 7000 visitors on that Berlin forest stage their concert debut in Germany.

1977 Inspired by the concert in Berlin Gerhard Bachor began with the concert switching of the American Continentals in Germany. The first appearances found in Seeheim Jugenheim and in Schaafheim/Odenw. instead of. After approximately. two years resulted a fruitful co-operation with the concert agency “Continental sound” (NL), which persists until today. In the first years only Continentals from the USA stepped into Germany on and in at that time GDR was soon a secret co-ordinator, Hartmut Stiegler, which provided for appearances in East Germany. 1985 Leen created la Riviére the Dutch concert agency “Continental sound” and the first own Continentals group was born: the “international Continentals”, with young people out completely Europe. Immediately they were trained in Holland and tourten then by many European countries.

2002 tourte the first Continental Kids group by Saxonia. Bus drivers, equipment and the program came made of Holland.
